The need to develop a vision for South Miami-Dade County grew out of the area’s comprehensive planning process called a charrette.
A charrette is a comprehensive planning process which is utilized to develop the community’s vision for its growth and future development.
The Economic Development Council, together with business leaders, residents, architects, and government officials, participated in a week-long, intensive public planning workshop, to draw the development plans of the nine area charrettes: Downtown Kendall, Village of Palmetto Bay, Perrine, Cutler Bay – Old Cutler Road, Cutler Bay Town Center, Goulds, Princeton, Naranja, Naranja Lakes / Leisure City.
The Economic Development Council will assist developers and investors with the planning process. Information regarding Enterprise Zone incentives could be made available and site selection assistance tours are available upon request.
